Learn more about Cardamom and Auger on http://www.shell.us/aboutshell/projects-locations/gulf-of-mexico-deepwater/portfolio/cardamom.html Back in 1994, Auger was the world’s first tension-leg platform, operating in the US Gulf of Mexico. A true deep-water pioneer, it was the first to float in water, moored to the sea floor thousands of feet below. When production from its fields started to slow, Auger looked destined for decommissioning. But in 2010 its fate took a dramatic turn. Using a new breed of seismic technology, Shell’s engineers discovered a whole untapped field – called Cardamom – hidden behind a vast salt deposit, 4 miles (6.4 km) below the sea floor. To reach its oil, they drilled one of the world’s longest wells. In September 2014, Auger began producing new energy from...

Israeli Special Forces. Asif Rangoonwala, Powerboat P1 International Racing Organization. Al Copeland, Founder Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits. Mark McManus has personally played a significant role in writing powerboat history. He is a respected master in the design and manufacturing of high-performance offshore boats ranging from 20 to 65 feet in length. Throughout his career he has manufactured in excess of 600 offshore boats. He has been widely recognized by boating industry leaders for his masterful design innovations. Precise alignment, balance and weight distribution of internal components create a vibration free performance, offering a stable and secure ride while attaining the fastest average speeds. McManus hulls are known to last 30-plus years — unheard of in a high-performance boat designed for rough offshore seas. The hull lifespan, safety record, and unmatched quality command a higher resale value than any other 40’ high-performance deep-vee in the market today. Padded dashes with anodized, polished, laser engraved aluminum, centerline steering, staggered engines and theme boats with innovative graphics are all features that McManus developed and introduced into the boat industry. Today, these upgraded features can be found throughout the high-performance boating industry in both recreational and commercial applications. The engineering specifications of the McManus and Apache® designs are the results of McManus’ vast knowledge and experience of thirty-five years. Using ballistics-grade Kevlar49 and pure 100% carbon fiber to his design specifications, along with hand-laid laminates, and military grade resins, every McManus built boat is precisely constructed to execute solid performance in the most adverse sea conditions. McManus, along with DuPont and the United States Military, assembled and directed the first team to design and weave a pattern of Kevlar and carbon fiber laminate, a design that has not been duplicated today. This system has been successfully integrated in all of his hull designs to enhance the safety and durability of his high-performance boats. Mark McManus is also the first manufacturer to offer complete refitting and restoration services for existing powerboat models. McManus has restored half of the Apache® boats he originally built in the ‘80s and early ‘90s. These were refurbished, not reconstructed, meaning the hulls were still in perfect condition; the new owners were interested in updating the look of the boats. Every boat is created to the client’s specifications, and each is a showpiece of exquisite quality, power, and offshore performance. Hand-painted artwork, graphics, instrumentation, and cockpit designs are as unique as the owners. McManus’ powerboats continue to rewrite powerboat history with their fit, finish, and ability to dominate and deliver in offshore waters at excessive speeds. One aspect about our new and refurbished boats: when you see the project; you will remember the boat and its unique features for a long time! Multifunctional complexes and sustainable resorts located out on the Sea and networked with their Cities We have devised systems that will serve as urban landmarks. They will work as recycling water plants, renewable energy power plants (solar, wind, tidal, bio-gas and geothermal), marine biology laboratories, and as inhabitable sculptures! The pride of their citizens. When thinking about the way societies and cities would grow in the future, the exploitation of resources and contamination of land, air and water will be the major factors determining if they could develop organized, responsible and positive or chaotic destructive and threatened. The greatest problems could be first mitigated and then solved by restructuring the way cities work: 1. The centralized provision of basic needs. It has to be helped by other providers, locally, decentralized! 2. The energy crisis, dependency on fossil fuels, contamination, expansion of landfills, depletion of groundwater tables and potable water contamination! 3. The wasteful and irresponsible behavior. We have to set the example that the opposite is possible, profitable and enjoyable! 4. The pollution of coastal cities. We must clean them! 5. very little is done to repair what has already been damaged! 6. The increase and misuse of land occupation. We have to find our home-place somewhere else, in the sea! Our solution: The first residential, commercial and Eco-tourism luxury resorts in an Eco-energy power farm and water recycling plant standing on a marine platform complex! Inspired by the City of Cancun, the capital of tourism in the Mayan Riviera -which in the year 2020 will celebrate its 50th founding anniversary-, a complex was conceived adapting the meaning of "kaan kun" (Nest of Snakes) and the magical legend of the Mayan Serpent God in its design. This Eco-platform was called "Grand Cancun" and condensed all ideas on self-sustainability explored in several projects and lectures. The Grand Cancun was conceived from the core to fight global warming (i.e. CO2 emissions). The systems on it contribute to the environment. resets urbanism towards the new clean metropolis, projecting the pride of a "sense of purpose" on its residents, amplifying the interest of its visitors and serving as a platform for business and finance, including luxury Eco-tourism. The standard Offshore Eco-Platform will be a mega-building, an offshore city standing on stilts where hotels, shopping malls, convention-congress centers, cinemas and loads more will provide all the needs and experiences available in a small city, while being totally self-sufficient, having a zero-carbon-footprint, and providing the surrounding land community with drinking water and energy from renewable resources! But the most interesting thing is that it will clean the seas! The shape of the building, its waterfront, and the coastal line will direct water right through waste collectors for floating solids and hydrocarbons. The water will be also nourished and purified to increase marine life. Above the water everything is planned to care for the environment, and about motivating people to share the responsibility. Grand Cancun will generate surplus of clean, local renewable energy and alleviate to some extend the city's energy needs. Solar panels will cover most of light-facing areas, including see-through photovoltaic polymers on transparent surfaces. Every residential block on the tower will have vertical wind turbines and solar panels.. There are also underwater energy collectors of tidal and wave energy, Geothermal energy collectors according to location, and waste-to-biogas power plants by anaerobic digestion. The lower level of the platforms would hold all the power plants and energy storage systems. Like all existing oil platforms, the project would contain large desalination plants producing drinking water for all the users of the complex and some for the community. All rainwater will be collected and reused. Wastewater is not wasted! It will be recycled, purified and reused for gardens. Here there is a chance to study and monitor the marine development of the Eco-platforms by installing marine biology laboratories and environmental studies/sustainable energy university departments. When this new green architecture gets built, it will reset around the globe the standards about what is possible and ideal as a resort, and will change the way we see our cities forever. The best of the idea is that eventually his building concept will be replicated in such a scale that the return to pristine clean beaches will definitively be there for our grandchildren to enjoy. The feasibility of the platforms is enormous considering the many different types of platforms and mooring available now, prepared to take any environmental conditions in all geographical locations, including eventually some far in the middle of the oceans, cleaning, protecting, generating. The ultimate stewards of the seas!

http://ApachePowerboats.com/apache-star info@apachepowerboats.com 1-239-454-1114 APACHE STAR BREAKS WORLD SPEED RECORD – KEY WEST TO HAVANA – AUGUST 1, 2015 History was made by the crew of the Apache Star on Saturday, August 1 when the most famous offshore Deep-V race boat in US history crossed the 110 mile stretch between Key West, Florida USA and Havana, Cuba in world record time of 90 minutes. It is now the fastest crossing between Key West and Havana recorded in history. The Apache Star – a two-time World Champion, Kevlar and carbon fiber Deep-V race boat Apache 50 – shattered the previously established speed record with Apache Powerboats owner and offshore performance legend Mark McManus operating the throttles, and owner/entrepreneur Roger Kluh driving, Engineer John Pompi at the gauges, and navigator Damien Sauvage. The crossing became the first time since 1963 that an American pleasure boat with an American crew has been authorized by the US government to visit Cuba. ‘…I operated the boat as aggressively as I could within safe limits, to try to take care the wellbeing of my crew.” – Mark McManus The Crew of the Apache Star departed towards Havana Cuba at 10:15am EST from the Stock Island Marina Village in Key West. They experienced rougher than expected seas of 8-10 feet, 60 miles into the trip. The Crew arrived at the Port of Havana 1 hour and 30 minutes later, breaking all previously established records by almost 5 hours. “ When we arrived at the dock, people were singing and chanting…” – Mark McManus “The people of Cuba are a warm and happy group of people…” – Mark McManus A sudden loss in GPS signal occurred 28 miles away from the Port of Havana, all 3 GPS navigation devises on-board the Apache Star lost reception. The Apache Star crew relied on two backup navigation systems which allowed the successful completion of this historic mission. “Roger Kluh, the driver did a great job steering the boat” – Mark McManus All four members of the Crew are safely back State-side, the Apache Star is currently at the International Hemingway Yacht Club dry dock awaiting service and maintenance in preparedness for the return to Key West later this month. The previous record for the fastest Florida-to-Cuba crossing was set in 1958 by Forest Johnson, with a time of six hours, 24 minutes. This beat the original record, set in 1922 by Gar Wood. ‪#‎ApacheWorldRecord‬ #ApacheWorldRecord

This is a legend offshore powerboat built and rigged by Steve Yadvish of North Coast Yachts in Seattle Washington. This is one of two boats that Steve hand crafted from the original 41 War Path mold leased from Apache and you can to this day custom order one and have one built if you so choose to do so. Apache powerboats would NOT let North Coast Yachts use ANY of their deck molds thus leaving North Coast Yachts to create their own deck mold to close in the top of this awesome rig. This boat as most of us original Apache 41 War Path owners know, is a full knock off from the original 41 War Path hull. The rumors going around about this particular boat we need to put to bed right now. First the hull of this boat was NOT narrowed but on all original 41 Apache hulls there was a flare where the rub rail mounts to the hull, This boat does NOT have a rub rail so that in turn makes the boat 3 ¾ inches narrower than the original apaches are. Typical Apache 41 war path hulls are 89 inches in the rear at the transom, this Legend is 85 ¼ inches wide at the transom. The HULL WAS NEVER NARROWED as once originally thought. This legend offshore has been rigged with things that no one else in the industry has ever done with the attention to detail thats second to none. What impressed me the most were the stainless steel hard lines that were used and custom bent from all of the hydraulic pumps all the way back to the transom for the drives and 380S K planes with no rubber or braided lines. Custom machined cushion clamps to hold these stainless steel hard lines were impressive as well as all the wiring being aircraft tolerances with zip ties and neatly loomed and supported. This boat was originally rigged with Mercury Racing 1000 HP engines (bowtie blocks) and #6 wet sump drives on full race extension boxes.
